Grayhawk is a master community located in northern Scottsdale Arizona. It is home to the Grayhawk elementary school and a private school, El Dorado.
Residents of Grahawk utilize the Paradise Valley Unified School District. Students attend the Grayhawk elementary school, the Mountain Trail middle school, and the pinnacle high school located at 3535 East Mayo Blvd. in Phoenix. These are assigned schools so parents or guardians can petition for out of district schools or a different school altogether.
The El Dorado private school has been in operation since 1970. Their academic programs are student centered engaging students in the learning process and providing avenues of creativity. There’s a small teacher to student ratio with hands-on activities bringing students to high levels of thinking an application. Students are accepted from preschool through eighth grade on a case-by-case basis. Individualized curriculum in lower grades give each student the opportunity to build progress at his or her own rate. Prices are from preschool through middle school from $4,100 to over $12,000 each year depending on the child’s age, grade, discounts and full or half days. There are also nonrefundable registration fees, before and after school care fees and new student testing fees.
The Grayhawk elementary school receives a 10 out of 10 school rating by great schools.org from parents, teachers and students alike. The community rating has given it a four out of five stars and in math and reading, scores have far exceeded standard or average testing levels.
The Mountain Trail middle school received an 8 out of 10 school rating by great schools and continues to rise in academics on math, reading and writing well above the 80 to 90 percentile. The closest middle school besides Mountain Trail is a Vista Verde middle school.
The Pinnacle high school received a 10 out of 10 school rating with excellence in math, reading, science and writing, far exceeding Arizona State average as well as the Paradise Valley unified district average. Extracurricular activities include band, ceramics, chorus, computer arts, French and Spanish language and a variety of sports.
